Founded by Ja’Quan Malik Jones and Jonathan B. Cooper, Billiards VMSOA is a multimedia production company and nonprofit story house rooted in Virginia and the DMV.
We’re a group of creatives putting in reps in real time , building a creative development pipeline that bridges artistry, education, and opportunity. Through The Billiards Canvas, Billiards VMSOA Magazine, and Billiards Music, we craft film, TV, theatre, and music that reflect culture, community, and conviction.
Since 2017, we’ve been passing the baton while producing work that inspires, teaches, and leaves its mark.

Ja'Quan Malik Jones
Co-Founder. Executive Director. Artist, producer, and storyteller from South Norfolk (SoNo), VA. A proud Norfolk State University alum and Brown University M.F.A. grad, Quan creates work that bridges art, culture, and purpose. Through Billiards, he leads a creative pipeline, telling stories born from the Black diaspora and built for the world.

Jonathan B. Cooper
Co-Founder. Creative Liaison Artist, singer, and worship leader from Norfolk, VA. A Norfolk State University graduate with a B.A. in Drama & Theatre, Jon bridges faith, art, and community through creative collaboration. As Co-Founder of Billiards VMSOA, he brings heart and vision to the longevity of what Billiards is building.

Music Director. Composer. Sound Designer From Suffolk, VA, LaTron Baker-Pierce is a multifaceted musician, educator, and composer, shaping the sonic identity of Billiards VMSOA. Holding a B.A. in Music Education with an emphasis in voice and guitar. LaTron brings both technical precision and soulful artistry to every project. His work skillfully bridges sound and storytelling.

Creative Development. Producer. Writer Born and raised in Norfolk,VA, Vania is a writer, actor, director, educator, and producer whose work bridges artistry and impact. As Creative Development & A&R co-lead at Billiards, she curates authentic narratives, scouts emerging talent, and shapes the sound and stories of the Southeast region. Host of Billiards VMSOA Magazine and Music and co-host of 10 and 2, Vania continues to fuse mentorship, storytelling, and community -- creating spaces where creativity, purpose, and individuality thrive.

Born and raised in the 757-- Norfolk, VA, Naire is a multidisciplinary artist, actor, director, teaching artist, and strategist dedicated to creating spaces where artists feel seen, heard, and empowered. As Host of The Billiards Music Magazine and Co-Host of 10&2, they fuse storytelling, performance, and design to spotlight the culture and creativity of the 757 and beyond. A vital voice within Billiards VMSOA, she bridges art and advocacy -- shaping narratives that inspire transformation and community through truth and care.
